The absolutely outrageously beautiful Kayak VR: Mirage is planned for release on PSVR2 at some point in the future. We reached out to Dutch developer Better Than Life after the outstandingly realistic watersports sim started blowing up on Steam, and the developer confirmed what we’d anticipated: that the game will be a great fit for Sony’s headset.
The release, which launched this week on PC and has been attracting sensational reviews, is billed as “a jaw-dropping and exhilarating journey through beautiful and unique locations, tailor-made for virtual reality”. As you can see from the trailer, there’s a meditative aspect as you simply use the authentic physics to explore – as well as a time trial mode where you can compete at high-speeds.
Different weather conditions, backdrops, and rapids keep the gameplay interesting and introduce new challenges. As mentioned, reviews for the PC release have been overwhelmingly positive, with many heralding it as the most beautiful, realistic virtual reality game to date. We’re in for a treat when this paddles to PSVR2 in the near-future, then.

Ok well that looks insanely beautiful. Think you could use this for therapy purposes with the right environmental soundscape and a fan pointed at your face.
Damn. That looks gorgeous. Could totally see myself playing this at some point.
This hopefully doesnt have sharks haha
Yeah another PSVR2 game if only they could give the hardware a release date…
Oh wow! Yup I could get into this! Definitely would pick this up if I get PSVR2. Perfect showpiece style game.
Yeah this looks great. Give me a chilled Endless ocean vibe. Talking of Endless ocean, id love another chilled out diving game. Could be something special in VR.
Pretty much everything is better in VR. Wouldn’t consider this game flat, but this looks good. Of course, will have to see how strong my stomach is with the wave physics, apparently people in PCVR are having a hard time lol.
Great black and white example of a game I'd never play "flat" but in VR, I am totally looking forward to it.
Uh huh… you have to wonder how is it that these psvr2 games are looking better visually than most ps5 flat games…
@Bleachedsmiles I mean the trailer's the PC version, so there's that to keep in mind.
Wondering if it will look this good in PSVR2, if so...that's crazy and I think this is VR's best shot at really taking off in the console space.

They are very active and talk about future support of other platforms.
@SoulChimera Thanks for sharing!
@get2sammyb It’s one of the only things I like about Reddit. A lot of the PSVR developers are extremely active on there.
Everyone: so chill, so beautiful. #vibes
Me with an intense fear of open water: NOPE.
@get2sammyb I dont think the quality will suffer on the PS5. There is not much going on in the game but water physiks. I think we can get this in the same quality next year.
@get2sammyb aiming for launch day,
